About the workshop leaders:
Jacqui Thorburn has been a knowledge manager working with intranet teams and content owners for over 16 years. Beginning her career as a litigation lawyer she discovered the importance of speedy access to critical information, and effective communication. She has worked with intranet teams in the private and public sector and is currently Manager Knowledge Systems for Sydney Institute of TAFE. In this role she manages the internet and intranet teams, the records department and facilitates knowledge sharing through people networks and system development. Jacqui has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, and a Bachelor and Master of Laws in Employment Relations.
Nicky Hayward-Wright is a Knowledge Management Advisor who has worked in both the public and private sector, including Alzheimer’s Australia where she introduced the use of online social tools and at TAFE NSW where she helped start up the Knowledge Management Reference Group, a formal community of practice. Currently Nicky is working on developing organisational learning and knowledge capability for GS1 Australia through the implementation of a digital workplace strategy. Nicky also provides online community coordinator support for the Creative Performance Exchange (CPX), and online curation for Melbourne KMLF (Knowledge Management Leadership Forum).
While the use of digital technologies focuses strongly in Nicky’s work of enabling organisations to harness organisational knowledge, she believes that it is imperative to also provide people with the appropriate training and ongoing support, as well as the right environment that facilitates knowledge sharing, collaboration and connectedness.
